Do you have hope? Hope for change, hope for healing, hope for success, hope for security. Hope is not just a feeling, but a powerful tool. Whether your are experiencing difficult life transitions, relationship issues, inability to express your feelings, depression, anxiety, abuse, trauma, divorce, separation, or grief and loss, HOPE may be elusive. It needs to be cultivated. It needs a safe place to grow. Counseling is not just a place to learn new skills and gain insight; it is also a place to cultivate hope.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, practicing in Redding, CA. I attended Simpson University, where I obtained a B.A. in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. I have lived in the Redding area most of my life, where my wife of 14 years and I are raising our three children. I currently specialize in working with couples in conflict or distress, teen parenting interventions, and individuals affected by depression, anxiety, and traumatic experiences.

I am particularly passionate about working with couples in distress or conflict, where I use an experiential, emotion-focused approach that aims to create greater levels of trust and safety, and stronger emotional bonds through the use of Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy (EFT). Additionally, I am currently a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, a customized couple assessment for couple's strength and growth areas. The addition of this assessment provides couples treatment with a wealth of information to support growth, communication, and resolution of relationship injuries.

I have also been fortunate enough to receive specialized training in teen parenting strategies and issues. I am certified in the Triple P Teen Positive Parenting Program, a one-to-one parenting support intervention for parents of teenagers up to 16 years of age. I wholeheartedly believe, and the research supports, that working with the parent and the teen is important to building a better parent-child relationship, developing effective parenting strategies for difficult behaviors, and supporting individual counseling services for a struggling teen.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions about my specializations or inquiries about counseling services.
